Job Reference: GIBPL0826
Location: Gibraltar
Department: Personal Lines
Our Story
The role
Capurro Insurance a leading Gibraltar firm with a heritage stretching back 150 years. From our Gibraltar office, we combine deep local knowledge with direct access to leading insurers in London and the Lloyd's of London market, arranging tailored cover for individuals, families and business.
We're growing, and we're looking for a Personal Lines Insurance Broker to join our team and help clients protect the things that matter most to them.
As a Personal Lines Broker, you will be the trusted point of contact for our clients across our personal insurance products: home, motor, travel and marine (boat & yacht), with scope to develop into other lines. Your job is to understand each client's needs, find them the right cover, and stay by their side from first enquiry through renewal and when it matters most at the point of a claim.
This is a client-facing, market-facing role. You will not just process policies; you will help clients, present risks to insurers, negotiate terms, and build long-term relationships that keep clients coming back.
-
New business - Handle enquiries by phone, email and in person; gather the information insurers need, obtain quotations from local and London-based markets, and present clear, suitable options to clients.
Renewals - Manage our renewal pipeline proactively, reviewing each client's cover ahead of time, re-marketing where needed, and contacting clients in good time with options and recommendations.
Client servicing - Process mid-term adjustments, answer coverage questions, and help clients genuinely understand their policies, including what is and isn't covered.
Claims support - Work alongside our in-house claims team to guide clients through the claims process and make sure they feel supported.
-
A warm, professional manner and a genuine interest in helping people. You listen well, explain clearly, and stay calm when clients are stressed. Strong communication and a client-first attitude are essential.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to stay organised across a busy pipeline of quotes, renewals and adjustments.
Confidence working with numbers, systems and documentation.
Fluency in English; Spanish is a strong advantage given our client base.
Some experience in insurance, financial services or a client-facing role is welcome - but we also value the right attitude and we are happy to train the right person from the ground up!
A willingness to study towards a professional insurance qualification (e.g. Chartered Insurance Institute / Cert CII). Existing qualifications are a plus.
-
Competitive salary, reviewed in line with experience and performance.
Healthcare cash plan giving you access to everyday health and dental care.
Life assurance for peace of mind for you and your family.
Company pension scheme.
Summer office hours, giving employees greater flexibility during the warmer months.
Milestone rewards that recognise and celebrate your loyalty and achievements.
Company-funded CII professional qualification, so you can build a recognised, lifelong career in insurance at our expense.
Employee discounts across a range of our insurance products.
This role is subject to a six-month probationary period, after which certain benefits become applicable.
Create a career like no other
